Demolition & Excavation

Thoughtful and thorough site preparation and earthwork position us for success at every subsequent stage of a project. The demolition phase is also our best opportunity to salvage plants and materials for reuse.

Drainage & Stormwater Management

Good drainage is critical when it comes to a healthy garden – and a healthy city. We work with our clients to mitigate and redirect stormwater runoff, and to reduce flooding in yards and basements, by installing dry wells, digging French drains, and creating other unique drainage solutions.

Masonry & Stonework

Patios, steps, retaining walls, and other hardscape elements anchor our designs. We have the experience to self-perform a wide range of concrete and stone-related activities, and we collaborate closely with trusted masons when we want support.

Structural & Ornamental Metalwork

Garden bed edging, custom planters, decks, railings, stairs, and reflecting pools add both style and functionality to our gardens. We have the skills to fabricate our own corten steel elements, and the relationships with metalworkers and fabrication shops to create just about anything in aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and more.

Woodworking

Fences, decks, trellises and privacy screens, outdoor kitchens, and custom furniture transform and personalize outdoor spaces. We do all of our own woodwork in-house, streamlining the process from design to installation.

Water Features

Moving water brings gardens to life. We have experience fabricating and installing a variety of reflecting pools, fountains, and fish habitats, and we collaborate with specialized plumbers, masons, and metalworkers as needed.

Irrigation

A professional watering system can make all the difference in the health of a garden, especially as New York summers get hotter and longer. We work closely with a handful of irrigation specialists and are happy to make a referral or organize an introduction.

Planting 

Trees, shrubs, and plants make a garden a garden and planting is our favorite part of the job. We have go-to relationships with high-quality nurseries and growers across New York and New Jersey and we search and travel far and wide–even ordering internationally–for the right species. We also source premium soil, mulch, fertilizer, and other soil amendments as needed. 

Furniture & Upholstery 

The right furniture finishes a space and adds important functionality. We custom fabricate and source outdoor furniture and accessories of all kinds (think: storage boxes, garden tool racks, fire pits).
