Two bluestone patios – dry-laid for permeability – pitch gently towards the center of the space where a combination of subsurface trench drains and deep, gravel-filled retention basins collect both surface water and roof runoff from a redirected downspout. 

An expansive, multi-tiered, planted area at the back of the yard also does its part.
