Scope: design, project management, masonry, lighting, planting
Elegant stone pavers, complementary gravel, and a spare, thoughtful planting transform a typical stoop-side hardscape into a colorful and peaceful garden. Where there were once several yards of concrete slab, a specimen Magnolia loebneri ‘Merrill’ (Star Magnolia) now anchors a generous planting bed full of Polystichum polyblepharum (Tassel fern), Helleborus orientalis (Hellebore), and other glossy foliage.
Topping the remaining slab and garden apartment stairs in complementary concrete creates visual harmony with the new pavers, and soft lighting adds evening magic to complete the space.
